After nearly three years of writing on Medium, the time has come to call it quits. I started this journey in 2021 with optimism and a simple goal: share knowledge, insights, and thoughts while exploring whether blogging could be a meaningful side hustle. It was an experiment — a creative outlet, a chance to build something that could grow into more. But as the year ends, I’ve decided it’s time to stop.
The Journey: A Mix of Fun and Frustration
At the start, blogging on Medium was enjoyable. There were moments of excitement — seeing my first few views, interacting with readers, and trying different styles of content. However, it became clear over time that my enthusiasm wasn’t enough to sustain this platform as a productive or fulfilling endeavor.
I explored a range of topics:
- Technical content like how-to guides and DevOps tips, which resonated the most with me and felt valuable.
- Personal reflections, finance advice, and even controversial opinions, which garnered lukewarm responses.
- Stories about my life and experiences, which sometimes felt forced and cringeworthy.
